All students will stay in the two-twin-bed guest rooms of the Convention Center (CC) at Duke Kunshan University. Students may request to have a single-bed room with an additional fee. Students will be provided a pre-paid card with 200 RMB for meals on campus.

How to Apply

Applications open on October 15, 2023, and close on December 15, 2023. 

Applicants need to complete and submit an application form by clicking the Apply button or scanning the QR code below.  No supplementary documents or essays are required except a 2-minute self-introduction video in English. English language proficiency tests are not required.  Some applicants may be asked for an online interview after their applications are reviewed.

College students are welcome to apply. High school students who will be 18 years old on or by the start date of the program may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

English is the official language of instruction at Duke Kunshan University. Chinese proficiency is not required for our academic programs.

The program fees cover all costs for students for the duration of the program. This includes courses and course materials, evening events, community engagement opportunities, College Connections, housing, and meals.

The admission is rolling-based. Applicants usually receive email notifications on their admission status within 3 weeks from the date they submit the application except those who are required for an online interview.

Currently, all courses/programs are non-credit. However, students will receive a certificate if they meet all course/program requirements.

We do not guarantee that attending the Acceleration Programs will affect your application. However, applicants are welcome to include their participation when applying.

FAQ for Participants

You will stay at the university’s Conventional Center which is located on campus and only accepts internal guests. More photos and information can be found here. 

You will receive a pre-paid campus card upon your arrival with a 200 RMB deposit. You may use it for all cafeterias on campus but not the campus stores like Family Mart. You are required to return it when you check out or 100 RMB will be deducted from your deposit.

You may bring laptops, clothing and personal items as you need. The Conventional Center provides all necessary items such as bedding and toiletry kits as most decent hotels do.

Yes. You will receive instructions on using the washers and dryers from the front desk of the Conventional Center.

Yes. The address is No 8 Duke Avenue, Kunshan, Jiangsu, China 215316. Please include your name and cell phone information. You will need to pick up your package from the campus mail center located at the west wing of the community center.

You will be assigned to a double-occupied room with a roommate. Because of the benefits gained from meeting new people and making new connections, roommate requests will not be accepted. However, by sending an email to acceleration@dukekunshan.edu.cn, you may request to have a single room with additional fees. A new bill will be issued for you.

The check-in starts at 10am and ends at 2pm on the reporting day. If your flight/train makes you arrive before or after, please contact us by sending emails to acceleration@dukekunshan.edu.cn. We will try to accommodate your schedule.

Completion of all course/program requirements is mandatory. Departing early will result in disqualification from receiving the program certificate. According to the current schedule, the program ends at noon of the last day. You may depart after that.
